Freedom to Stay, Move, Resist Posters

As state violence and authoritarianism intensify across our communities at home and abroad, we are called into collective action and remembrance. Millions of Asian Americans are here due to U.S. war, occupation, climate change, and global capitalism. And many of us continue to suffer for it to this day. But, we refuse to let history repeat itself. We will defend the rights, safety, and liberation of all immigrants and refugees. Join our movement and fight for our collective freedom to stay, move, and resist.

These posters were designed by Sonia, 18MR's Communications Designer. Throughout their creative career, Sonia has been inspired by maximalism, design justice, and print/merch design as tools for storytelling. In this artwork, we invoke motifs of birds nesting, in defense, and in murmuration, as we know that migration is natural but not always beautiful. We bring in typography and textures inspired by 60s/70s screenprinted and riso printed revolutionary posters. 

We are excited to share four 11"x17" poster designs with you: a triptych to hang in your space, and a unified poster to take to rallies and actions. Print them, hand them to comrades, or post the digital versions online, and don't forget to tag @18millionrising on IG when you do!
